SSPro has an internal SMTP engine that can greatly simplify the email configuration process. Using
the internal engine, users typically need only specify the "To" and "From" email addresses. However,
some additional settings may need to be specified for a successful setup. Use of SSPro's email features
requires that the machine be connected to the Internet.
Enable email features by checking this box.
Check the option to use SSPro's internal SMTP engine.
Enter the remote address to which you wish to send the SSPro log files/alerts.
Enter your local address from which you are sending.
Test your email configuration by clicking the "Test Email Settings" button.
If your settings are correct you should receive an email from SSPro. If the test email fails, click on the
"Advanced Settings" button and follow the instructions in step 2.
Typically your DNS server address should already be filled in. If it is not, you can
click the "Detect DNS Server" button to retrieve it or you can contact your ISP or network administrator
for this information. The DNS server address should be in the form of an IP address such as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. The
IP address used in this example is only for demonstration purposes and will not work on your machine.
In some instances the specified DNS server will not be able to determine the IP address of the
destination SMTP server. In these cases you can specify the IP address yourself in the format xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Typically,
you will not need to enter any information here.
Re-Test your email configuration by clicking the "Test Email Settings" button.
If your settings are correct you should receive an email from SSPro. If the test email fails, re-check
your settings. In some instances you may not be able to use SSPro's internal SMTP engine or you may need to
specify an alternate "To" email address. For more help see the following help articles:
